• To every couple getting a divorce in the US, it costs approximately $18,000 and this number includes lost work productivity, associated relocation costs, and any legal fees that can vary immensely, depending on the situation of the couple and the nature of the divorce.
• Statistics shows that an average divorce in the United States costs state and federal government approximately $30,000 in both direct and indirect costs. State direct costs include but are not limited to: child support enforcement, food stamps, Medicaid payments, public housing assistance and any temporary assistance to needy family fund (TANF).
